Website: The library website serves as a comprehensive gateway to a wide variety of informational materials, available both online and in print. It acts as a primary resource for information on library collections, services, spaces, facilities and staff. Library Portal: The Library Portal offers access to the library catalog. It also provides secure access to user accounts, allowing patrons to view their library accounts and track their circulation activities. Through the portal, users can renew or reserve borrowed items. Additionally, the Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI) service keeps users informed about new additions to the library collection by saving searches and delivering updates at regular intervals. Wi Fi: Wireless connectivity to the internet is available at all floors of the library for information users. They can get connected with the internet using their digital devices such as laptops, notebooks, smart phones, etc. with build-in wireless adaptor to avail this server.

Reference Service

Information Desks have been set up to provide in-depth reference and information support. Information Desk at second floor serves from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM . Whereas the Info Desk at ground floor provide services during opening hours of the library in all working days. Users may make queries by e-mail at the [email protected]

Information Literacy

The library offers instructional programs to help information users in making the most usage of its information resources and services. These programs include orientation sessions, hands-on trainings for information searching, in-class sessions, workshops, and seminars on various instructional and research tools, such as Endnote, Mendeley, SPSS, etc. and how to search electronic databases. Literature Search Assistance

If any researcher requires specialized and systematic literature search assistance in any particular subject area for conducting literature reviews, systematic reviews, meta-analysis and scientometric analysis, we are available to collaborate on such research projects as we can help you in subject specific literature searching, designing and executing appropriate search strategies, writing search queries, and development of PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews, Scientometric Analyses and Meta-Analyses) diagram. Instructional Support

The library staff can create subject-specific bibliographies based on users' demand from its available resources to support instruction. These bibliographies are provided to faculty for course planning and to students for use in research projects and assignments.

Similarity Checking Service (Plagiarism Detection)

The research students need to have similarity clearance certificate before submission of MS/MPhil or PhD thesis. The library provide similarity checking service using Turnitin for graduate students of UoS community to ensure academic and research integrity of research projects. The students need to submit application on a prescribed form for similarity checking and receipt of a similarity report through proper channel. Book Searching Assistance

If an item cannot be found on the shelf, you can inquire at the circulation desk. A search will be conducted and you will be notified once the item is located. The item will then be held at the Circulation Desk for you to pick up within two days.

Multimedia Service

The users can request library staff for on/off of LEDs available in the discussion rooms. These LEDs can be connected with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for group presentations and research projects.

Document Delivery and Inter Library Loan

Electronic Document Delivery: The UoS Libraries offer electronic access to documents and journal articles that are not available locally. They pay fees to international service providers to obtain these resources through the internet. This service is intended to assist researchers in their projects.
Inter-Library Loan (ILL): If a particular item is not available in our collection, the library makes arrangements to acquire it from other libraries if user makes such requests.
