Library Portal: The Library Portal offers access to the library catalog. It also provides secure access to user accounts, allowing patrons to view their library accounts and track their circulation activities. Through the portal, users can renew or reserve borrowed items. Additionally, the Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI) service keeps users informed about new additions to the library collection by saving searches and delivering updates at regular intervals. Wi Fi: Wireless connectivity to the internet is available at all floors of the library for information users. They can get connected with the internet using their digital devices such as laptops, notebooks, smart phones, etc. with build-in wireless adaptor to avail this server.
The library offers instructional programs to help information users in making the most usage of its information resources and services. These programs include orientation sessions, hands-on trainings for information searching, in-class sessions, workshops, and seminars on various instructional and research tools, such as Endnote, Mendeley, SPSS, etc. and how to search electronic databases. The library staff can create subject-specific bibliographies based on users' demand from its available resources to support instruction. These bibliographies are provided to faculty for course planning and to students for use in research projects and assignments.
If an item cannot be found on the shelf, you can inquire at the circulation desk. A search will be conducted and you will be notified once the item is located. The item will then be held at the Circulation Desk for you to pick up within two days.
The users can request library staff for on/off of LEDs available in the discussion rooms. These LEDs can be connected with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for group presentations and research projects.
Electronic Document Delivery: The UoS Libraries offer electronic access to documents and journal articles that are not available locally. They pay fees to international service providers to obtain these resources through the internet. This service is intended to assist researchers in their projects.
Inter-Library Loan (ILL): If a particular item is not available in our collection, the library makes arrangements to acquire it from other libraries if user makes such requests.
